Eleven years into his career and having won a lightweight world title, the undisputed junior welterweight world championship and a welterweight belt, Crawford still has not had a marquee fight. But after this performance, in which he had some issues but closed ferociously, perhaps he will get one.

Porter did all the damage in this round. He was really aggressive and had moments of landing hard combinations, especially early on in the clinch. Crawford looked content to just let Porter wail on him. He did come on strong later in the round.

Now, Spence and Crawford are set for their toughest challenge yet, the event that will determine their legacies once and for all. And it's happening because the fighters pushed behind the scenes to finalize the matchup at long last.

"Every belt I’ve gotten I’ve taken from somebody. I beat champion after champion. I’m going through the ringer fighting the best guys in my division. There’s a big difference between facing a champion and someone without a belt. The guys with the belts have a lot more to fight for.

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has ordered its newly crowned 154-pound titlist to next face three-division champ Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford. The ruling was applied per the conditional terms by the sanctioning body in its approval for Fundora to challenge previously unbeaten titlist Tim Tszyu.

Two of the United States’ most fearsome boxing Heavyweights will do battle with former unified Heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz returning to the ring for the first time since a unanimous decision win against Luis Ortiz in September 2022, to face Jarrell Miller, who is terence crawford will be going all out to produce a winning outcome after losing his undefeated record in Riyadh in December last year.

For years, the only knock on him was that he lacked a signature victory. He finally picked up one — and in exceptional fashion — when he became the first fighter to stop Shawn Porter, recording a 10th-round TKO to retain his WBO welterweight championship in front of 11,568 fans at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Interesting opening round. Spence pushed the action much of the three minutes, jabbing (although he didn’t land many) and targeting Crawford’s body. He probably won the round. However, neither guy landing anything of consequence.

"Like I said before, I only dreamed of being a world champion," said Crawford. "I’m an overachiever. Nobody believed in me when I was coming up, but I made everybody a believer. I want to thank Spence and his team because without him none of this would have been possible."

Madrimov is the recognized WBA 154-pound titlist, not the ‘Regular’ titleholder as suggested by Brown. The sanctioning body previously abolished all interim titles in 2021. The move was part of its aggressive title reduction policy, with the goal to eliminate multiple WBA beltholders within a weight class.

Round 9: This is an extremely difficult fight to score with the lack of action. Crawford circles and flurries as Madrimov nearly falls out of the ropes. They reset in the center of the ring. Big left hand misses for Madrimov, but he finds a home with a follow-up right. Crawford circles to the right and pumps his jab. Crawford eats a one-two. Stiff counter left connects on the chin for Madrimov. This is easily his best round. Crawford goes back to his jab. More circling and jabbing for Crawford. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 Madrimov. "Someone said I was criticized," Kenny Porter said. "Please, criticize me. Go right ahead, I love it. Because at the end of the day — this is where we at right now, we are at the end — tomorrow morning I will be able to look out of my window at his house right across the street from me. I will be able to play with my (grandsons), I will be able to walk my dog over to his house, I will be able to hug my daughter-in-law, and I will be able to love my son."

The warrior gene runs through the blood of Terence Crawford. His grandfather, father and uncle had all trained at the C.W. Boxing Club in Omaha, Nebraska. The gym’s owner, Carl Washington, was also Crawford’s neighbor. Washington approached a then seven-year-old Terence about doing the same as a means of keeping the youngster out of trouble.

The fight was Spence's first since he underwent surgery in August 2021 to repair a detached retina. He was set to fight the legendary Manny Pacquiao that same month but withdrew from the matchup because of the eye injury. But Spence came back better than ever, just like he did when he recovered from a serious car crash in October 2019 that threatened to jeopardize his career.

Despite the fact that "One Time" Thurman hasn’t fought since soundly outpointing Mario Barrios in February 2022, the former unified welterweight king still retains his spot as the WBC’s No.1 contender. If that’s not confusing enough, his fight prior to that was a split-decision defeat to Manny Pacquiao in July 2019.
